Dibenzyl disulfide is an organic disulfide resulting from the formal oxidative dimerization of benzyl thiol and is known to have a role as a metabolite. It is characterized by its pale yellow leafy or small leafy crystals and a powerful, burnt-caramel odor, which can be irritating when concentrated. The boiling point of DBDS is >270°C (decomposition).
